Accredited by the Institution of Fire Engineers Canada Branch to meet the requirements of Section 2.8 of the Ontario Fire Code.
This Four (4) Hour Certificate program was developed and is delivered by a team of NFPA Fire & Life Safety Public Educators.
The program involves in-person and or virtual learning opportunities. and will prepare participants to effectively implement & manage their fire safety program in their workplace complete with an array of course materials as takeaways.
Participants must achieve 75 percent in order to obtain the certification.

Do Facility Managers require training as per the Ontario Fire Code?
Yes ! The Ontario Fire Code requires all persons having roles and responsibilities within that fire safety plan, to be trained on those roles and responsibilities prior - to being given any responsibilities under that fire safety plan. The Facility Manager, is typically responsible for implementing that fire safety plan, on behalf of the employer in control of the facility.
Documentation of this training must be maintained at the building at all times as per the Ontario Fire Code.
The Program
Training and development are vital components for fire code compliance in any facility. This program provides facility Managers in Ontario, with the solid knowledge and foundation to effectively implement the fire safety program, in accordance with the Ontario Fire Code.
This exciting certificate program is a ‘stamp of approval’ that a person responsible for fire safety in a Facility in Ontario can be used to show that the person has achieved a particular standard of excellence in their field of work. Participants must achieve 75 percent in order to obtain the certification.

This interactive and engaging Four (4) hour training program provides the training required for you to fully implement a workplace fire safety program in Ontario, and effectively manage the program on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. This training meets the requirements under Section 2.8 of the Ontario Fire Code.

Program Requirements
Participants must achieve a minimum passing grade of 75 percent on the certification final exam.
Participants must attend with a current copy of their building’s fire safety plan, approved by the local fire services within the last 5 years.
Program Execution – In-Person or Virtual Training
Participant registration is required.
Date / Time / Location details confirmed. In-person training requires a suitable space to conduct the training to ensure a safe, and conducive learning environment.
The accredited certificate training program will be delivered by a recognized NFPA 1035 Level I Fire & Life Safety Educator.
Upon training completion of training, participants are issued a secure access code to National Life Safety Group’s Learning Management System, where they will review the training, and complete the certification exam.
Successful participants, those achieving the required 75 percent on the certification exam, are awarded a detailed certificate outlining their achievement, bearing the program details, and Institution of Fire Engineers Canada Branch endorsement details.
