Certificate Program: “Operations” of Life Safety Systems in Residential Buildings

Hands on training and ongoing knowledge testing of Superintendents and Security Staff at residential buildings

In Ontario, building staff who work at Condominiums and Apartment buildings (the workplace) require training on the building’s Life Safety Systems, before they are able to both operate these systems and complete the required Checks, Tests, and Inspections of that system.

This is a requirement in Ontario.

Certificate Program: Operations of Life Safety Systems in Residential Buildings

Hands-on, reality-based training for Superintendents and Security Staff at residential buildings.

This unique, 1.5 hour certificate program is site specific, held on site - right in your sprinkler and Fire Alarm Room, providing building security and Superintendent staff with the HANDS ON knowledge and skill set to effectively utilize the fire alarm system, reset manual pull stations, effectively utilize emergency voice communications systems, and understand the the components and operations of wet / dry sprinklers, standpipe systems, firefighter elevators, open / closed valves, and smoke control systems - unique to your building.

  • Allows those responsible -who oversee the buildings life safety systems at 2:00 AM the opportunity to train hands-on, and attain the skill and comfort required to effectively and safely operate, check & inspect these systems as required by Fire Codes & OHSA.

  • Empower your staff with realistic training and allow the building Owner to maintain evidence of training completion to the requirements of both the fire code and applicable sections of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.

  • Developed and delivered by a recognized team of NFPA 1035 Fire and Life Safety Public Educators,

 

Program Requirements

 
 

Participants must attend with a current copy of the residential building’s fire safety plan, reviewed and updated within the last 12 months, approved by the local fire services within the last 5 years.

Documentation of this training and all course certificates shall be maintained by the building Owner as evidence of their active fire safety program for their building.
